When you join our team as a Cost Accountant you will be responsible for ensuring proper inventory valuation, process and transactional compliance, as well as providing necessary operational analysis around production variances and operational metrics for our St. Mary's and Tijuana locations.
Essential Responsibilities
Support multiple aspects of the monthly/quarterly/annual financial close and reporting process as it relates to inventory and operational variances
Ensure proper valuation of inventory, in line with Company financial policy
Responsible for the planning and execution of the annual physical inventory
Calculation of inventory reserves, and driving the processes to preclude excess and obsolete products
Preparation of operational metrics, analysis and reporting of same to management
Participate in cross functional process improvement teams to promote operational efficiencies
Travel as necessary
Participate in the training of others
Understand and follow applicable Company practices, policies and procedures.
Work safely
Other functions or projects which may assigned
Bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting
Minimum 5-year relevant work experience in operational cost accounting/financial analysis
Demonstrate strong oral/written communication skills
Ability to work cross-functionally
Proficient t in Microsoft Office suite and other Financial system/analysis tools
Ability to analyze complex issues and develop appropriate action plans
Deliver timely results
Lead projects/assignments
